 Lead Engineer (Multi-Skilled) – Food Manufacturing
£45,000 – £55,000 + Bonus + Benefits

This is a hands-on Lead Engineer role within a fast-growing food business that’s known for innovation and quality. The site is smaller than the typical corporate factory, which means your ideas and input won’t get lost in layers of management, you’ll directly shape how engineering is run as the business continues to expand.
You’ll have the chance to balance reactive and preventative maintenance with longer-term improvement projects. There’s also exposure to R&D trials and new product launches, giving variety and keeping the role forward-looking rather than repetitive..

What you’ll be doing

  • Maintaining and optimising production equipment to reduce downtime.
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Working on process improvements to boost efficiency and reliability.
  • Supporting the introduction of new equipment and processes.
  • Coordinating with contractors on site services.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety and H&S standards.

What we’re looking for

  • A multi-skilled engineer with strong mechanical bias.
  • Experience in food, FMCG, or process-driven manufacturing.
  • Problem-solving ability with a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Familiarity with Autoclaves/Retorts and Sealing Heads is a strong advantage.
