Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic External Sales Representative to drive sales growth and expand our client base in the Northampton area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, electronics, and automation, with the ability to build and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory
  • Conduct in-person visits to potential and existing clients to promote our products and services
  • Provide expert advice and technical support to clients on our electronics and automation solutions
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with clients
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and market intelligence
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to represent the company and generate leads
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback
  • Contribute to the development of new products and services based on customer needs and market demands

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 3-15 years of proven experience in external sales, preferably in the electronics or automation industry
  • Strong technical knowledge of electronics and automation systems
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
  • Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of industrial automation, PLC systems, and control systems
  • Experience with IoT (Internet of Things) applications and solutions
  • Familiarity with energy management and sustainability solutions
  • Understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts and technologies
  • Previous experience in consultative selling and solution-based approaches
  • Professional certifications in sales, electronics, or automation (e.g., CPSP, CSSE, CMSE)
