Office based
We’re currently supporting a rapidly scaling, tech-led business based in Manchester in the search for a Finance Manager to join their growing team.
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to join a business at a key stage of growth where finance is becoming increasingly central to commercial decision-making. Reporting directly into the Finance Director, you’ll play a key role in shaping processes, improving reporting, supporting strategic decisions and helping build a finance function that can scale.
This role would suit someone who enjoys getting stuck in operationally whilst also being commercially minded enough to influence the wider business.
You’ll also manage and develop an Assistant Accountant and have exposure across the wider leadership team.
As Finance Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function whilst acting as a trusted partner to senior leadership.
You’ll be responsible for everything from month-end and reporting through to forecasting, financial modelling and process improvements, helping ensure finance keeps pace with the growth of the business.
• Ownership of the full month-end process including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
• Production of accurate and timely management accounts
• Build and maintain budgets, forecasts and financial models
• Monitor business performance and provide commercial insight across the wider business
• Ownership of cashflow forecasting including rolling forecasts and working capital management
• Oversee AP/AR processes and supplier payments
• Support statutory accounts preparation and year-end activity
• Work closely with external advisors where required
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, automation and finance processes
• Line management and development of one Assistant Accountant
• Partner with senior stakeholders to support decision making and business growth
• ACA / ACCA qualified with around 2+ years PQE OR strong QBE experience considered
• Strong technical accounting background
• Confident owning the full month-end cycle
• Strong experience producing management accounts and reconciliations
• Advanced Excel and strong financial modelling ability
• Strong knowledge of Xero is essential
• Commercially minded with excellent communication skills
• Energetic, proactive and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable operating both strategically and in the detail
• Experience within logistics, e-commerce, transport or fast-growth businesses
• Experience working in a scale-up environment
• Exposure to investment-backed businesses
• Annual bonus
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays + birthday off
• Gym membership
• Employer pension
• Cycle to work scheme
• Long-term progression opportunities
If you’re looking for a role where you can genuinely make an impact, gain exposure across a growing business and work closely with senior leadership, I’d love to have a chat.
I’m a people-person through and through, working in recruitment across the UK and Ireland for some of our key clients. I love connecting with others, spotting potential, and helping people find roles that truly make them shine. When I’m not chatting careers, you’ll usually find me with my mini sausage dog, Dennis, by my side and a cold, crisp glass of wine (or a Diet Coke!) in hand — the perfect combo for winding down after a busy day.
