Are you the person who can sit with a CEO discussing a business problem in the morning, design the solution before lunch, and then spend the afternoon challenging engineers on the best way to build it?

We’re partnering with a rapidly scaling technology business that is building complex, high-volume platforms used in real-world operational environments. Their technology sits at the heart of the business, and they are now looking for a Technical Solutions Architect to become the bridge between commercial objectives, operational requirements and engineering delivery.

This is not an Enterprise Architect role hidden behind governance meetings and endless PowerPoint presentations.

This is a hands-on, high-impact position where you’ll own the technical design of major platform initiatives from concept through to implementation.

You’ll work directly with senior leadership, operational stakeholders, product teams and software engineers to ensure complex requirements are translated into scalable, maintainable and commercially sensible solutions.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading requirements workshops with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Turning business challenges into clear, well-defined technical solutions

• Designing APIs, microservices, integration patterns and scalable system architectures

• Creating ERDs, sequence diagrams, system context diagrams and technical specifications

• Making pragmatic build vs buy vs integrate decisions

• Acting as the technical voice in discussions between engineering and business stakeholders

• Supporting development teams throughout delivery, providing technical guidance and removing ambiguity

• Working directly with external partners and customers on technical integrations

• Influencing the future direction of a modern technology platform

We’re looking for someone who combines engineering credibility with exceptional communication skills.

You’ll likely come from a background such as:

• Technical Solutions Architect

• Solutions Architect

• Technical Architect

• Software Architect

• Lead Software Engineer

• Lead Developer

• Senior Backend Engineer moving into architecture

Technical experience required:

• Previous hands-on software engineering experience

• Strong understanding of APIs, webhooks and integrations

• Experience designing microservice-based architectures

• AWS architecture experience including services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway and SQS

• Strong SQL and database design expertise

• Experience producing high-quality technical documentation

• Ability to model complex business workflows and system states

• Understanding of scalable, resilient and maintainable software design principles
