Field Service Technician – EV Charging, Solar & Home Energy
Location: South Holland, Netherlands
A growing technical services business is looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to join its team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role focused on the installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of modern residential energy and electrical systems.
The Role
You will work directly with customers in residential environments, installing and supporting a range of electrical and energy technologies, including:
EV charging stations
Residential solar PV systems
Home battery storage systems
Large domestic appliances and white goods
You will be responsible for ensuring installations are completed safely, correctly and to a high standard, while providing customers with a professional service.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, test and commission residential EV charging systems.
Install and connect residential solar PV systems, including inverters and associated cabling.
Install and integrate home battery storage systems.
Install, connect and test large household appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators and tumble dryers.
Carry out technical inspections and provide installation advice to customers.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues and faults.
Ensure all work complies with relevant Dutch electrical standards and internal safety procedures.
Complete installation reports, job sheets and technical documentation accurately.
Explain the operation of newly installed equipment to customers.
About You
MBO/HBO qualification in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related technical discipline.
At least 1 year of relevant technical or field service experience.
Valid Category B driving licence.
Good understanding of residential electrical installations, wiring and practical installation techniques.
Able to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical installation manuals.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple customer appointments per day.
Customer-focused with good communication skills.
Good command of English; Dutch language skills are highly desirable.
Desirable Experience
Experience with one or more of the following would be advantageous:
EV charger installation
Solar PV installation
Home battery/energy storage systems
White goods or domestic appliance installation
Residential electrical installations
NEN 3140, NEN 1010 and/or VCA certification would be beneficial, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
