We are working with a leading construction firm to find an experienced MEP Commissioning Engineer with a strong mechanical background to support the delivery of a large-scale hyperscale Data Center project.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a major mission-critical development, supporting the commissioning, testing and handover of complex mechanical and MEP systems.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience with mechanical commissioning, HVAC and critical cooling infrastructure, ideally gained across Data Centers, industrial facilities or other mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support mechanical commissioning activities across the Data Center development.
Oversee the testing and commissioning of HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, CRAH/CRAC units, AHUs and chilled water systems.
Coordinate mechanical commissioning from pre-functional testing through functional performance testing and integrated systems testing (IST).
Support Level 1–5 commissioning activities, including equipment verification, start-up, functional testing and final integrated testing.
Work closely with mechanical subcontractors, commissioning teams, MEP contractors and client representatives.
Review commissioning procedures, test scripts, method statements and technical documentation.
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical system performance issues, ensuring systems operate to design specifications.
Coordinate with BMS and controls engineers to validate sequences of operation and system integration.
Attend commissioning meetings, monitor progress and provide updates against project milestones.
Manage commissioning punch lists, outstanding issues and technical closeout documentation.
Ensure all mechanical systems meet project quality, safety and operational requirements before final handover.
Experience & Requirements
Proven experience as a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, MEP Commissioning Engineer or Mechanical Commissioning Lead.
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, critical cooling infrastructure and mechanical plant.
Experience commissioning complex mechanical systems on large construction or industrial projects.
Understanding of commissioning processes, including pre-functional testing, functional performance testing and IST.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, specifications and commissioning documentation.
Experience working alongside mechanical contractors, BMS/controls teams and project management teams.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical commissioning challenges on-site.
Data Center or mission-critical experience is highly preferred.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
Work on a major hyperscale Data Center development.
Exposure to complex mechanical infrastructure and mission-critical cooling systems.
Opportunity to work alongside experienced MEP and commissioning specialists.
Play a key role in taking a major facility from construction through successful commissioning and operational handover.
