We are working with a leading construction contractor to find an experienced MEP Project Manager to join the delivery team on a major hyperscale Data Center construction project.
This position will play a critical role in managing the mechanical, electrical and plumbing packages throughout construction, installation, commissioning and final project handover.
The successful candidate will have experience managing large-scale MEP construction projects, coordinating specialist subcontractors and ensuring complex building systems are delivered safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards.
This opportunity would suit a Project Manager with a strong mechanical or electrical construction background who understands the challenges of delivering major mission-critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the delivery of MEP packages across a large-scale hyperscale Data Center project.
Oversee mechanical, electrical and plumbing subcontractors throughout the construction lifecycle.
Coordinate the installation of critical infrastructure, including HVAC, cooling systems, electrical distribution, generators, UPS systems and associated MEP equipment.
Manage construction schedules, project milestones, budgets, resources and subcontractor performance.
Work closely with General Contractors, specialist subcontractors, commissioning teams, engineering consultants and client representatives.
Coordinate MEP activities to ensure mechanical and electrical installations progress in line with the overall construction program.
Identify potential project delays, technical challenges and coordination issues, implementing solutions to maintain project delivery.
Review engineering drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, change orders and construction documentation.
Lead project coordination meetings, provide progress reports and communicate updates to senior project stakeholders.
Oversee QA/QC processes, inspections, installation standards and construction readiness for commissioning.
Support the transition from construction through mechanical completion, commissioning, integrated systems testing and final handover.
Ensure site activities meet project health, safety, quality and compliance requirements.
Experience & Requirements
Proven experience as an MEP Project Manager, Mechanical Project Manager, Electrical Project Manager or Construction Project Manager.
Strong background delivering large-scale MEP construction packages.
Experience working on Data Centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial developments or similarly complex construction projects.
Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, cooling infrastructure, power distribution, generators and UPS systems.
Experience managing multiple subcontractors, construction teams and specialist engineering contractors.
Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, project scheduling, procurement and subcontractor coordination.
Ability to interpret MEP drawings, specifications, technical documentation and construction schedules.
Experience supporting commissioning, system integration and project handover.
Strong commercial awareness, leadership skills and ability to manage competing project priorities.
