The Opportunity
Every order that lands on a customer's doorstep at peak freshness is the result of a plan that worked. Right now, our client is looking for the leader who will own that plan.
We are partnering exclusively with a high-growth online grocery and food delivery business a technology-led operation that has rebuilt the food supply chain from the farm to the front door. Proprietary routing, automated fulfilment, direct relationships with growers and producers, and a customer base that expects perfection every single time.
They are hiring a Director of Planning to build and lead their end-to-end operational planning function from the front.
This is not a maintenance role. It's a build. You will take demand forecasts and turn them into executable plans across fulfilment and last-mile delivery, own capacity and labour strategy, and create the models, tools and reporting that the wider business makes decisions from. If you have ever looked at a planning function and thought "I know exactly how I would run this" this is that role.
What You'll Own
End-to-end operational planning — translating demand forecasts into execution across fulfilment and last-mile delivery
Capacity and labour planning — aligning volume, productivity and service-level targets
Forecast accuracy — partnering with Demand Planning to sharpen inputs and manage variability
Planning infrastructure — developing the models, tools and reporting that enable data-driven decisions
Productivity and cost optimisation across the operation
Peak and seasonal planning, including contingency strategies for demand swings
Cross-functional alignment with Operations, Transportation, Supply Chain and Technology
A high-performing team — one you will build, develop and lead
What You'll Bring
8–10+ years in planning, analytics, operations strategy or supply chain management
Proven experience in high-volume environments — e-commerce, grocery, retail, logistics or last-mile delivery
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with real depth in data modelling, forecasting and scenario planning
Advanced Excel, plus experience with planning tools, BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI) or SQL
A track record of turning complex data into clear, actionable operational plans
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders
Genuine people leadership — you have built and developed teams before
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; MBA or MS in Supply Chain / Analytics preferred
