Sales Team Lead / Sales Manager
£75,000 basic + £5,000 car allowance + uncapped commission
Remote / Hybrid | Occasional travel to Peterborough
I’m working with a growing UK technology / connectivity business that is looking for someone to come in and properly take ownership of a sales team. Not babysit it. Not just report the numbers. Actually lead it.
You’ll be managing a full sales team, driving performance, coaching people, improving conversion, tightening up pipeline and helping create the kind of environment where good salespeople actually want to perform.
This is a really exciting time to join because the business is growing quickly, the commercial function is evolving and there’s loads of scope to make an impact. They want someone who can bring energy, structure, accountability and personality into the team.
Someone who enjoys:
getting the best out of people
spotting where someone is slipping and fixing it
celebrating the wins properly
challenging when standards drop
coaching people to be better, not just telling them to “do more”
getting into the numbers and actually understanding what’s driving performance
helping shape how the sales function grows
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for:
Managing and developing the full sales team
Driving individual and team targets
Running proper 1:1s and coaching sessions
Reviewing pipeline, activity, conversion and forecast
Supporting the team on bigger / more complex deals
Improving consistency across the sales process
Setting clear expectations and holding people accountable
Managing underperformance properly
Supporting recruitment and onboarding as the team grows
Working closely with senior leadership on commercial priorities
Creating a positive, high-performance sales culture
What they want
They’re looking for someone who has already managed a sales team and knows how to balance people and performance.
You’ll ideally have:
Proven sales leadership experience
A strong track record of hitting / exceeding team targets
Genuine coaching ability
Experience managing a mix of high performers and underperformers
Strong pipeline and forecasting discipline
A commercial, data-led mindset
Confidence challenging people when needed
A hands-on leadership style
Strong communication skills
The ability to work well in a business that is growing and changing quickly
Experience in telecoms, connectivity, technology, utilities, managed services or another fast-paced B2B sales environment would be a big plus.
The package
£75,000 basic
£5,000 car allowance
Uncapped commission
Remote / hybrid working
Occasional travel to Peterborough
This is one for someone who genuinely loves sales leadership and wants to join a business where they can make a visible difference, not just inherit a team and keep things ticking over.
