The opportunity
We are recruiting experienced Domestic Electrical Appliance Installers to join the home delivery division of a growing global logistics business.
This is a field-based position combining technical installation, customer service and safe home delivery. You will be responsible for completing high-quality appliance installations in customers’ homes while ensuring every job is completed safely, professionally and in line with current regulations.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working with a major appliance retailer, manufacturer or home installation provider, such as Currys, AO, John Lewis or a similar organisation.
What you will be installing
You will complete a range of domestic installations, including:
Electric ovens
Electric hobs
Freestanding electric cookers
Washing machines
Dishwashers
Integrated domestic appliances
Television wall mounts
Smart home products and connected devices
Experience installing integrated appliances will be highly advantageous.
Key responsibilities
Deliver and install domestic electrical appliances in customers’ homes
Complete electric cooking installations safely and accurately
Install freestanding and integrated white goods
Carry out appropriate electrical and safety checks
Ensure installations meet current electrical and health and safety standards
Identify and report installation issues, faults or unsafe conditions
Maintain accurate job, compliance and certification records
Provide clear product demonstrations and guidance to customers
Deliver a professional and positive customer experience
Work closely with your delivery partner and wider operational team
Protect customers’ homes and products throughout every installation
About you
You will have a strong background in domestic appliance installation, electrical installation or home delivery services.
You should have:
Experience installing electric ovens, hobs or freestanding cookers
Previous domestic appliance or white-goods installation experience
Strong electrical knowledge and practical installation skills
Experience working safely in customers’ homes
Excellent customer service and communication skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a two-person delivery team
A full UK driving licence
Flexibility to work five days over seven on a rota basis
Experience driving a 3.5-tonne vehicle would be beneficial.
Qualifications
Candidates will ideally hold one or more of the following:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Relevant domestic electrical or appliance installation certification
Applications may also be considered from highly experienced domestic appliance installers who can demonstrate strong practical experience working for a recognised installation provider.
Training
Successful candidates will be required to attend a structured six-day training programme during September:
Three days in Luton
Three days in Welwyn Garden City
Full attendance is required before commencing in the role.
