About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Network Estimator to support the estimating and pre-construction team on major new construction projects across Texas.
The successful candidate will have strong experience estimating low-voltage, structured cabling, network infrastructure and/or technology systems within large-scale commercial construction environments.
Data Center experience is highly desirable, but candidates with experience across hospitals, hotels, high-rise buildings, industrial facilities and other complex new construction projects will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed estimates for network and low-voltage construction projects.
Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work and bid documents.
Develop accurate material, labour and equipment take-offs.
Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
Prepare competitive bids and detailed cost estimates.
Identify project risks, exclusions, scope gaps and potential cost impacts.
Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers and clients during pre-construction.
Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
Maintain accurate estimating documentation and bid records.
Support multiple bids simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
Participate in bid reviews and handover meetings following project award.
Requirements
8+ years of construction estimating experience preferred.
Experience estimating network, low-voltage, structured cabling or electrical systems.
Strong understanding of commercial/new construction projects.
Data Center experience highly desirable.
Experience with large-scale projects valued at $20M+ preferred.
Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
Strong understanding of labour, material and equipment costs.
Experience working with General Contractors, subcontractors and vendors.
Proficiency with estimating and construction software.
Bluebeam experience strongly preferred.
Strong Excel and cost-analysis skills.
Excellent communication and attention to detail.
Stable employment history with demonstrable career progression.
Ideal Background
The ideal candidate will have estimated major electrical or technology packages on complex buildings such as Data Centers, hospitals, hotels, high-rise developments or other large commercial facilities.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the size and value of projects they have estimated, the scope they were responsible for and their involvement throughout the bidding and pre-construction process.
