NetSuite Systems Accountant

Location: Doncaster

Working pattern: On-site, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

We are partnering with a growing manufacturing and supply-chain business that is investing in its systems, data and finance capability.

The business is looking for a proactive and detail-focused NetSuite Systems Accountant to become the key link between Finance, Systems, IT and operational teams.

This is not a traditional accounting role focused solely on producing numbers. You will help shape how NetSuite is used across the business, supporting users, improving reporting, strengthening data integrity and identifying smarter ways of working.

The opportunity

As NetSuite Systems Accountant, you will act as the first point of contact for finance-related NetSuite queries and help ensure the business gets maximum value from the system.

Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, IT, Systems and Operations, you will improve user knowledge, develop reporting, investigate system issues and maintain the accuracy of financial, stock and inventory data.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing practical first-line support to NetSuite finance users

  • Creating and maintaining saved searches, reports and dashboards

  • Supporting month-end and year-end system activities

  • Investigating and resolving finance-system and data issues

  • Supporting NetSuite upgrades, testing and new functionality

  • Identifying and implementing system and process improvements

  • Documenting finance processes and system procedures

  • Reviewing stock, inventory, fixed-asset and operational data

  • Maintaining the fixed-asset register within NetSuite

  • Providing cover across purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger activity

  • Supporting the Accounts Payable inbox and wider Finance team queries

  • Working with internal teams and external system partners when issues require escalation

What success will look like

You will help create a Finance function where:

  • Users receive timely and effective NetSuite support

  • Reports and dashboards provide accurate, meaningful insight

  • Month-end and year-end processes run smoothly

  • System issues are clearly documented and resolved

  • Finance procedures are consistent and easy to follow

  • Stock, inventory, fixed-asset and finance data is reliable

  • NetSuite continues to evolve alongside the needs of the business

About you

You will be someone who enjoys understanding how systems and processes work and, more importantly, how they could work better.

You will be comfortable interrogating data, supporting users and translating technical system knowledge into practical solutions.

You will ideally bring:

  • Strong working knowledge of NetSuite, ideally gained over two or more years

  • Experience supporting finance users with system queries, reporting and data checks

  • An understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger, general ledger, fixed assets and Accounts Payable

  • Strong data-analysis and problem-solving skills

  • Experience creating NetSuite reports, dashboards or saved searches

  • The ability to investigate finance, stock and inventory discrepancies

  • Experience documenting finance processes and system procedures

  • A continuous-improvement mindset

  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills

  • The confidence to take ownership of tasks and progress solutions independently

You should also be working towards, or willing to work towards, an accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or an equivalent qualification.

Experience within manufacturing, logistics, stock management or another operational environment would be particularly valuable. Exposure to Qlik, business-intelligence tools, ERP implementations, system upgrades or automation projects would also be advantageous.
